    S-TYPE: ELECTRONIC HANDBRAKE FAULT

I have had my S-Type 2.7D XS for 2 weeks now (2007 model). Yesterday, when I pulled into Fleet Services, the EHB fault warning came on the I couldn't move.

2 hours later, £147 to AA and the fault was rectified. How?

In the boot, on the driver's side, behind the fitting (behind the rear light cluster) is a box that controls the EHB. With the car switched off, "pinch" and pull out the cable nearest to the back of the car i.e. the fatter of the two cables. Then, switch on the ignition (I started the car) and put back the cable. This should re-set the EHB, save you 2 hours and £147!

I believe disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds resets it too.

I had a bit of a saga on this one. See this thread: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=32827

The hard reset is only the first trick to try, there are others. The thread covers it....!
