Considering buying a high mileage XJ
Hi,
I am new to the these forums and would like your opinions with regards to purchasing a high mileage 2010 plate XJ Portfolio, it's done 117K with full service history & 4 owners.
I'm being told it's likely to cost me around 13K, but I would only get a low warranty due to the high mileage.
Am I correct in thinking that the cam belt/chain should have been changed at around 112K?
Has anyone else purchased a high mileage vehicle and what should I be looking out for?
Many thanks.

I have one, 107k and can't find anything better to replace it with (no point replacing like with like). Check: sunroof runner rust, corrosion at bottom of drivers door, condensation in rear lights and creaking sunroof, get rear suspension checked for play as well. Portfolio with b&w and heated steering wheel is nice version.

Thanks AgJag,
The one i'm looking at is for sale via British Car Auctions so Wouldn't get chance to view it before buying, My brother-in-law runs a car sales business and would buy it for me, it's classed as a grade 3 (grade 1-5) with very few marks on it.
The interior looks really nice considering the mileage, it's the black leather version which I thinks shows less wear especially to the drivers seat.

When I was looking I saw an XJ with over 300K on it!
