Are you sure that's not off Trump's Twitter a/c? That's how the yanks spell Defence isn't it?

Yeah sorry, I initially found a US link to it, here's one straight from the BBC, about half way down. There's so many issues it's unreal.

The Ministry of Defence acknowledged "challenges" but said it was committed to being fully operational by 2026.

Sorry guys I can't understand all these negative comments about our new carriers, one will have aircraft on deck next year and I know if push came to shove and we really needed one or both then they would be pressed into service.

I remember the Falklands and some of the rag tag/bob tail ships and equipment our service personnel had at their disposal.

Maybe if two of these/something similar were available back in the 80's then maybe that war would not have happened

I'm amazed when desk jockeys come out with announcements of time estimates like these.

The last few wars after WW2 only lasted months.

The next might be over in days if not weeks!

So... I hope we aren't the target!

We still have a few serviceable "String bags" available. They could take off from that deck no problems. With the added benefit being that they would be almost impossible to shoot down using any of the modern anti aircraft systems. Next to no radar signature, no heat trace for infra red guidance, able to fly backwards if the wind is strong enough....

I was stood in front of HMS Victory taking that picture, I usually get much closer to the area than that at HMS Nelson but the amount of Armed Police due to the PM's visit meant I couldn't. Still, it's a sight to behold that massive ship.
