I've heard they will be built in Austria. Will definitely not be on my short list!

I don't think that is correct. It is the I-Pace that will be built there as production volumes will not be large. There is a company in Austria whose name escapes me that do contract car assembly for all the European manufacturers.

It doesn't bother me that it's going to be built in Austria. Nothing wrong with Austria, lovely place.

I hope the E Pace lives up to it's hype though because my ever loving wife has just ordered one in silver.

I'm told by our local dealer that there will be an unpowered demonstration model (to sit in, look at, fiddle with but not to drive) doing the rounds this month and next month and that they will receive their first demonstrators in the first week of December 2017.

Hopefully we should receive ours around mid January 2018.

    Excited

Can't believe people can buy this car.The body is nice I admit. At JLR they really think they can sell anything they want.
It's based on the old Evoque platform. A new car born already 9 years old. It's already the heaviest in category, the slowest, the most thirsty. Well Done Jaguar, a big piece o brown cake. And let sell it as luxury car for dummies.

The Audi Q3 has been out as long as the Evoque (2011) with only a mild facelift in its life time, using the same platform for almost 7 years and that is built in Spain.

The E-Pace is slightly shorter than the Q3, but has larger boot space and better rear legroom almost matching the Q5.

Exactly, Q3 is another crap car. Quality very low for the price Audi is asking, the ride is very poor and not comfortable at all. in addition the engine is traversal instead of longitudinal, and the same happens to the E-Pace.
At least the Q3 is not overweight as the E-Pace, the Audi TDi, older than the ingenium, is a far better engine with better fuel economy and usability. It's time for Jaguar to be consistent. The evoque already drives like a lorry, the e-pace should be the best in its class, and it's already at the bottom line, and it's new. Well done JLR.

P.S what happened to Ian Callum? How did he manage to take a suzuki swift front end and stitch it toghter to the E-pace?
