    XJ6 series 2

Has any one got any ideas why SU carby dash pot keeps blowing plastic plunger cap out of carbureter. It is like it is pressurised some how and stripping plastic thread. Has any one experienced this.

    Thanks Chris

Is there a return line back to the tank and if so, is it blocked.

Or perhaps a leaky inlet valve allowing compression back to the carb.

I do not offer advice, I only say what I would do with the set of circumstances presented. Your choice always.

I have been thinking about this a bit, I wonder if the brass damper is sticking in the dash pot piston and when it rises and is forcing damper up and causing thread to strip on plastic damper cap. I will see if I have a spare piston and swap it. See what happens.
