Looks much better. Video sound is difficult to judge, but you can make out the difference. For some reason, the quads just look much more pleasing on the eye.

Quite like that rear diffuser too, wasn't sure when I saw them at first but they're growing on me.

Well done for convincing your mrs (I assume?) to shoot the sound clip videos for you. I asked mine (for a laugh as much as anything else), all I got was "that look" and a derisory snort...

That sounds so much better! Good video comparison between the two.
I’ve just done similar to you by putting a second hand XKR back box on my 09 XK but with the XKR trim from the 4.2. Fits perfectly and heck of a lot less money than the 5L XKR trim which would also need painting.

Exactly what I did, As the XK doesn't have the open/close valve thingy I just have set them open with a hose clamp and the metall pin from the OEM exhaust opener.

The active valves on a standard XKR exhaust default to open so you shouldn't have to pin or clamp them to open them up. If you've done that you've probably held them closed, not open.

Didn't know that but they are open now!
I had a bit of a rattle from them with the valve activator attached so that's why I used the pin and a clamp.
