    Diagnostic check

Hi, how do you justify charging £100 for a diagnostic check?

£100 for a diagnostic check is outrageous.
Some main dealers do it for free. For example, Bentley call it a free health check.
Still didn't stop me buying my own Autel machine though.

I think it needs to be said that a workshop costs a lot to run, and all work done including diagnostics has to be paid for somehow. In my own case, I had the car heater checked by the new Crewe Jaguar workshop who confirmed my suspicion that a new matrix was needed. They charged £75 incl VAT. I then had them do the work and the diagnostic charge was subtracted from their quotation for fitting the new matrix. I also got a new XJ as my courtesy car too, (32 miles on the clock when I picked it up).
