    Re: prop shaft bearing

Knock/clonk on taking up the drive from rest or when running slowly in traffic and alternately slowing/speeding up.

    Noise proportional to speed.

There will be play in thre bearing if it is worn and should be detectable when car is stood by twisting and lifting.

    Re: prop shaft bearing

Centre bearing will give similar noise as wheel bearing, rotational, increase with speed. Failed U/J's (prop joints) will give vibration, and knock when going on / off drive, U/J's easiest to check as per yorkie's post. You may have to remove prop to check centre bearing, it will be noisy when spun, also may get warm in use.
