    My father had a Ford Consul with the worst headlights around. They went to a dim yellow if you used the wipers at the same time. They dimmed every time the revs dropped, so going from second to third meant loss of light. Not sure it had four gears!

    the first car I would admit to owning was a Rover 2000TC which was a nice motor for me when I was 20

    In 1970 my first was a 1957 Comer Cob conversion with side windows and rear seat part owned with a friend. Sold my share to him and bought an 1957 Austin A40 Farina outright which promptly fell apart with rust!

    Mine was a 1969 MkI 1300 Ford Escort. Bought in 1978 for £200 and it had been hand painted. Sold in 79 for £225. Loved it.

    Mine was a 1970 Mk1 Escort 1300GT 3 door in Ermine white (TYS 570H) loved this wee car, bought it in 1976 for £300 then put a set of rostyle's on it Wish I still had it too

    Mine was a MkV Cortina in light metallic blue, similar colour to my current car. I loved it. Traded it in for a red Sierra, huge mistake, that was a dreadful car.

    That's more like it! My first was a 1960 Ford Prefect (long before Douglas Adams popularised it!). I especially liked the vacuum operated wipers that stopped when the engine was under load and almost flew off on overrun!
