It was a natural choice simply because it was a Jaguar and you simply fancied one ?
What I am trying to find out is where the typical owner is likely to come from, you are
a Jaguar man and have purchased one on that basis, I wonder what its selling point will
be to those outside the Jaguar Family.
I would say that the handling capability of the F Pace is one very strong selling point for new buyers. Alan Cross and his team at Jaguar have done an excellent job in making the F Pace,a tall vehicle, handle equally as well as my 2006 XK.
Ian Callum's design team have produced a good looking vehicle, probably one of the best compared with the past and current bunch of SUVs and this will be a strong selling point too.

F-Pace is based on the XE/XF platform, made at the Solihull plant along with the XE.
It's the fastest selling Jaguar in history.
F-Pace starts at £34k, VW Touareg starts at £43k, saving over £8k!
    Has F-Type inspired rear lights.
Has one of the largest boots in its class, includes a flip over rear boot carpet mat (one side carpet, one side rubber).

I really liked the one I drove, had a great driving position for a SUV.
    Current Car:
    2017 XE R-Sport 25t 250Ps 18MY.

    Previous Cars:
    2000 S-Type 3.0L SE Auto
    2004 X-Type 3.0L AWD SE Auto estate.
    2007 XK x150 4.2L Coupe

Yes I hear what you say about the handling capability, but my suggestion is it handles no better than any similar vehicle
and you don't know that it does because you never tested any other manufacturer.
As regards design and the vehicle being good looking thats surely a matter of opinion.
Where apart from the badge, is the Jaguar DNA in this vehicle, there is none. Perhaps in light of Ians post its a question of
the DNA meaning different things to different people.
