It looked like a good idea until I read their terms and conditions. I'm not too sure about signing my life away...........

But nothing for UK. It'll be interesting to see if the solicitors Slater & Gordon win their legal action especially being a VW Passat owner myself but it seems it'll take nearly two years before it actually goes to trial.

The vultures and carrion crows are gathering.

    All the Despicables together.

    Is VAG doomed?

Do you really want to join them?

I hope the judges insist on proof of death by diesel.

    Pathetic bone pickers.

    Just like the PPI "Lawyers".

What happens to Diesel VWs and Audis now, will the bottom drop out?

Hi Jim _S-V6_2004. It's a proper suspicious turn of events really. VW may have offset the cost of fines, against vehicle service revenue post increased sales. They will cough up out of court and once paid up will show puppy eyes saying their intentions were misunderstood, produce more cars that appeal broadly, stamped by the EU emissions council, making VW a continuing thriving force contending well in their marketplace.

Everyone loves a good story, and while VW are grabbing all the headlines we lose sight of other manufacturers. I think in sport it would be called a professional foul?

Does anyone know what the VW fix is. Is it just taking away the hidden test software or have they changed the operating parameters of the car thus reducing pollution. I suspect I can guess the answer.

Could be, but $4 billion will hurt badly?

Basically it is just a software update but there is no legal requirement to have it done. They claim that it will not affect fuel consumption or decrease performance but I'm not so sure about that and I don't want my engine interfered with.

I wonder if the combustion bit is diesel? That would kill off all argument!

"The Outlander PHEV's powertrain may sound exotic - a conventional 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine works according to a computerised regime with two battery-driven electric motors, one front and one rear - but driving the car is easy."

    It's petrol
