this morning, this closure will be for most of the day apparently. Perhaps I have it wrong but it seems to me the Authorities
take far to long with these Motorway Closures, anything from a diesel spillage to people threatening to jump from Bridges
and it means closures for hours on end. I often think with these Bridge Jumpers, half a dozen mattresses either side of the
Bridge, copper up the ladder and push the halfwits off, job done
Ah, but you're forgetting the millions of £'s which would then be claimed in compensation by those that witness the "trauma" of such incidents!

Well at least there is a reason for the M1 closure as it now appears the Police suspect that it may be murder,
the case is complicated sadly by the fact that several vehicles ran over the body

I would hazard a guess that every driver who had the misfortune to run over the cadiver will be treated as a murder suspect.

As others who pilot/have piloted 44tonne lorries will agree,it's often safer for other road users to just risk the tyre damage from debris seen fleetingly in the headlights than to attempt to swerve into an ajoining lane. When said debris happens to be a fellow human,it's an even harder choice to make.

Just reading old Graham Taylor the ex England Manager has just died at 72, the press gave Graham a hard time
during his England Tenure, but he was a Christian and a decent man and I am sad to hear of his passing.

Yes, and of course his famous catchphrase: "Do I not like that!"

Some of the follower's of the original thread founded by the late lamented James25 may remember me mentioning my elderly father from time to time, mostly over the last three months of last year.
Dad was admitted on three seperate occaisions to hospital through that period, but returned to his care home just before Christmas.
He was not well, was clearly losing wieght and by the start of this week was little more than skin and bone.
He was diagnosed on his last hospital stay with Altzimer's,along with a failing heart.

Dad died peacefully in his sleep this afternoon.

Sorry to hear that your dad has gone E30 but in all probability the best thing, looks like he had a great innings too.

I say that, not as someone without a heart, but as someone who has just watched their MIL go through around 20 months of pain, losing weight and generally wasting away until death

I know my wife and her siblings were all in a catch 22 situation, they wanted their mum to live with them forever, but also just wanted her to go and rest in peace. It was a constant conflict.

Hopefully you and your family can go through the grieving process and move forward as best you can
    All my best

    Jim
