    Cd autochanger retrofit

Hi guys, going to retrofit a cd autochanger. Just wanted to know what I'll need. I've a 2006 one with the standard radio/cd player

I think all you will need is the multi changer and additional optic leads, the plugs should be in the boot taped away behind the left panel. The optic leads have to be connected in a certain daisy chain order with your existing modules, i.e voice sat nav etc.

Can be luck of the draw to find it prewired. Earlier cars were mostly but then not all and if the car doesn't have premium sound, nav, phone or voice and it's an 06 then it might not be. It probably won't have the bracket for mounting the changer either.

You'll need to check for the wiring as eyeballroy says. You might be lucky

Let us know how you get on and what you find.

    Cheers ... Jon

That's a pain. Have you looked everywhere carefully? They can be tucked away. I take it you don't have the mounting cage there either?

Why not get a Chinese SatNav/Radio/Bluetooth/DVD/SD Card/USB 2-DIN unit instead? £140 squid! Done and up to date maps too.

Better ones with rear-view camera for a bit more.

    Much better solution?

Exactly what I was going to suggest Jim in these circumstances. Really depends what the OP wants in the end and how much he wants to spend. He has nothing there so the world is his lobster

My stepson fitted a Chineese unit into his BMW. I was impressed with its function and even its looks once fitted. Having said that- would i fit one in my S type? Thats a no-no. But each to their own.
