I have recently become the proud owner of an 02 S Type R. This weekend, due to an oncoming bus being on the wrong side of the road, I ended up kerbing the nearside wheels and taking a chunk out of the rear tyrewall to avoid colliding
I understand you have to be careful when getting tyres fitted, does anyone know where I can get it replaced without further damaging the wheel??
Thanks for responding. I live in Manchester but work in Leeds. Bloody annoying incident, I was to busy avoiding the collision to take the registration of the bus!!
Paul, sounds like your wheel wasn't damaged. I'd be much more angry about the wheel....even though it's cheaper to repair a wheel then replace a tyre
Any tyre changer can swap a tyre without damaging a wheel. I go to great pains to express my desire that the rim isn't damaged by them. Point out that it's not marked before they start and would really appreciate it if it wasn't marked afterwards.
I've no doubt that they call me an asshole after I've left, but I don't care.... .as long as the rims are OK.
Smaller shops tend to care a little more then the big chains.
