Have a xj sport 4.0l N reg. The car is reving at around 1500 rpm. I replaced the stepper motor on top of the throttle body housing but made no difference. could it be the potentiometer at fault ? or something else maybe. does anyone have any usefull suggestions.
It's probably the throttle pot sensor. It's located underneath the throttle body. Just above the oil filter. Common problem. You will need a dealer to set it up after replacement, or a complete throttle body from a scrap yard.
