Can hear the motor wanting to do something when I press the switch in either direction but nothing actually wants to move. Any obvious fixes? Seat seems to move in ever other way no issue.

You won't believe it but no wonder my mechanic couldn't diagnose the issue, it was the bloody shock absorber I bought from the Jag breaker all along! :rolleyes:

All options exhausted so it'll be getting transported over to Prestige Jaguar near Glasgow and I'll just get the timing belt done as well.

The sensor was brand new. He's already compared both rears at the same time, hence showing the different heights nearside to offside, not while driving the car though. It's that low he's weary about driving it as the mud flaps already scrape the deck and the surrounding roads are less than flat.

Still no joy. Garage are getting help from another local auto electrician who are known to be good. Everything points to the hardware having the capability to work as it should, i.e. no air leaks etc. The readings on the height sensors look to tie in with what they actually have as well, i.e...

Why would it need that when, from what I've read online, people say it should just be a case of driving the car to get it to rise? Is it a common thing to need resetting?

Not sure on actual codes, mechanic has given me this tonight after the replacement sensor hasn't immediately fixed the issue, my question in red- New sensor on.... same problem. Voltage at both sensors is the same ... height readings are different which would tell me they are giving correct...

They ended up noticing the rear right suspension sensor has a cracked housing so hopefully looking likely that that's the issue. Had found some stuff online saying driving the car should cause it to rise up again but it didn't work with the sensor as is.

XJ is in for its MOT just now and it needed a replacement rear offside shock absorber. Got a used one from Auto Reserve Jaguar, it's been fitted no problem but won't inflate so the rear offside of the car is sitting low. Only fault the mechanic can find is 'self-levelling error'. Is a level...
