    Recommended a OBD2 readed?

Hi looking to buy a new OBD2 reader.
Do not want to spend loads, but the one i have is over 7 years old and there is no software update to give all info.
Will do rest limp mode etc but limited info on codes and engine
not sure about Bluetooth/Wireless as have Iphone

What is good value for money, covers most of what goes wrong on the Xtype

    Thanks

    Geoff

iCarsoft are considered to be the best handheld readers or go for a full Mongoose setup on an old laptop.

How do you get yours to connect as I have a couple of different OBD tools & I can never get them to talk to the ECU.

I have to do an ignition on, wait around 10 secs, ign off then back on again immediately, or else mine won't talk to ecu.

Mongoose is meant to be the best for dealer level diagnostics. Not sure if you just but the cable with CD or need to also install 3rd party diagnostic software onto your PC. personally I use the iCarsoft i930 which is great - helping me diagnose and repair lots of little niggles and bigger problems
