    Hello Payno,

to me the principle is sound, but it seems the execution of it is less than it should be. The big problem is getting a government directive translated and operated as intended.
However, I think that human nature is also a factor, offer people something for fre and what do they do?

If the last bit of your post is referring to benefit scroungers then you should know they are unaffected by universal credit as its only been implemented to new claimants who have lost there jobs mainly those who live pay check to pay check that can not wait 5 weeks for a benefit payment only the Tory's could this is a workable solution as they don't live in the real world

The police are paying attention to reports by other drivers:

Hopefully they will take action against drugs too.

    Watch out, stay legal, chaps.

About time they started prosecuting middle-lane road hoggers. I've lost count the number of times I 'undertake' those idiots doing about sixty in the middle lane when lane one is clear although passing by on the inside lane is not in itself illegal - you can be charged if you switch lanes aggressively to undertake as that could be considered dangerous.

    Must agree.

Even when driving in lane 1 on an 'empty' motorway at 70+10%mph
when others in lane 4 are rigidly sticking to the absolute speed limit presumably thinking that they are perfectly within their rights to not exceed (or allow others to exceed!) the legal speed limit and stay in the outside 'fast' lane.

As you quite correctly state Zero, undertaking is not illegal, but those that are being undertaken need to look at their driving attitude as their actions should be open to prosecution under current legislation.

This all harks back to Barbara Castle who was Minister for Transport at the dawn of motorways in the UK.
The fool refered to 'slow lanes' and 'fast lanes'....and the habit has not only stuck, but has been passed down, presumably by those qualified to teach new drivers.

No surprise there then ?....That's how MPs work we've got a prime minister who was not elected on a majority vote....She bought herself the position with the Irish DUP using public money...Then she tries to negotiate leaving the EU....When she clearly voted to remain ??....
