I've also never found a slug on my BMW, so might not suit Chris's nature interests?

Be honest, you were never lucky enough to get molluscs on your Jaguar/ Daimlers either, were you!

    What is this?

This seems, in hindsight, like it may apparently be useful. My car has started exhibiting odd - intermittent and not predictable - locking behaviour. I press the button (door or fob, it doesn't matter which) and the car locks, but the mirrors don't go in. A couple of seconds later, I get two beeps. Aha - something is open, methinks. But I press unlock, and then lock again and it all works fine. Something, somewhere, is screwing with the locking logic. I have decided, in the interests of my bank balance, to nobly soldier on and ignore the issue.
I suspect you will soon be changing some locking motors
