You're certainly not letting the grass grow under your feet Alec.

Blistering pace sorting the issues that you are not happy with.

I for one would keep the beige carpet for the contrast it provides.

    Looking damned good.

A bit suprised myself Rich, still lots to do though.
The problem is there is just a bit too much beige for my likeing. The carpets get dirty after every trip, you are more than welcome to help clean them, then you might understand

Come on Alec, who the heck do you think you're kidding.

Both of us are owners of cars with ivory seating and all that entails keeping clean.

Looks like you already have black mats in the footwells, they should do.

Invest in a 50p scrubbing brush to agitate the carpets before hoovering.

Besides, you're the one that sits in it most of the time and are already trained on how to keep a car pristine.

A bit of OCD vanity, the plates have arrived & registered with DVLA to the car. Will fit them when I collect the car on Saturday and update insurance

The car is back from Top Wheels, Greg (the owner) is a perfectionist and stayed late into Saturday afternoon to get the car ready. Highly recomended! One of the wheels had to be welded sadly, not ideal, but I am assured it will be fine.

    Before:

After acid dipping, you can see the crack:

    After, new center caps too

New wheel bolts ordered & calipers to be painted next...

The new plates fitted, front plate trimmed to legal minimum as per my Super V8.

A mini photo session with my Super V8, the first time parked side by side!

Hi Alec, looking really good, they make a nice pair

Glad you got the plates N10 AWE was definitely the way to go and just make them stand out even more when together.

The alloys look great and the centre caps too, really nice.

I thought you may have had the hubs / calipers done when the wheels were off too, but perhaps didn't have the time?

Lastly, how about having the wheel nuts wire brushed and painted black too, unless you are fitting new ones at some point? They'll take away from those lovely newly refurbed alloys otherwise.

You're cracking on at a decent rate though, kudos to you...

    Cheers

    Thanks Henry & Jim.

The plan was to send the wheels away and do the calipers at the same time. I decided I did not like the idea of a car sitting with no wheels on at the house. Replacement bolts ordered, as mentioned.

    Super update Alec.

You'd have been forever kicking yourself if you'd not secured that plate.

I for one can see what Henry is on about when he says the Super allus looks to be doing somat it shouldn't

Whilst you and yours were out being Papped yesterday, I was getting down and greasy with mine, only photoing its naked underbelly as it were.

Keep the updates coming and diary in the 12th August, more to follow.

To be fair I had another plate in mind also, either would have been fine.

12th August, my curiosity is piqued, shame you can’t make it to the show in May.
