    Cool Wooden Gear Knob

Don't know about other peoples view but on my car the gear knob does not match the rest of the veneer and looks a bit out of sync,

it also had a couple of cracks in it.

    The Original One(light in colour)

So after searching the internet for a replacement I found one of a darker colour from a company called Classic Woodwork & Veneers Limited,
22 Kimberley Road, Solihull, West Midlands, B92 8PU,
but I don't think they are trading anymore which is a bit of a shame because it is a quality item and only £19.00.

    The New One(slightly darker)

I think it looks much better ,
    Enjoy your cars,
    Armond

Seems to be a common problem on Jags. Nice replacement though.

I was a woodturner before I retired ! I think I shall start making gear knobs. I want to replace my own with a darker one, but will look for a wood that will reflect the Burr Walnut appearance of the dash panels.
Just using a stock block of walnut will not replicate the colouring, as the burr look is due to the initial cut of the veneer from the timber. I shall keep you all posted on my efforts.
    Regards to all,
