    The Latest Updates

So yesterday I went to a reasonably close LR supplier, returning via my local Euro Car Parts branch.

A pleasant jaunt out, that finished with the barge showing 35.1mpg on the trip for the 81 miles covered.

Yeah I could have ordered what's in the box and had it delivered, but that'd a meant waiting, stuff that.

The wipers took all of a single minute to fit, the boxes contents considerably more.

Why? cause a simple job allus expands out to "I'll just do this as well"

Anyway, here's what £38 bought me, can you spot them? BFAM is not allowed to enter as he knows and is also having some, which I believe he'll have a member of staff fit

No such luxury for me, his poor English relation.

I was expecting a couple of packages, one of them for the Jag, only the one turned up, a package that'll rid the barge of the yellow sidelights.

£11.98 after discount from my go to light supplier, Powerbulbs. It's worth noting that taking the headlight unit out has to be the easiest job on any car, grille off in 15 seconds, 2 sliding locking mechanisms lifted, unit out and unplugged in a further 45.

Here's a few images of what I bought and the outcome.

Talking of Jags, took mine out for leisurely drive today, had a mouch around Cawthorne Antique Centre, taking the long way home up the M1 for a more spirited pace.

Thanks Jim, but in truth It could have done with a wash.

Just noticed I'm photobombing the shot

Mudflaps is the correct answer, once I'd seen another D3 with them on, I upped the urgency on fitting a set to mine.

Yes, I have a spreadsheet covering costs for fixes and upgrades along with a * to ***** rating for urgency. The mudflaps began as a ** when I collected the car, last week they went to **** rating.

Sad or OCD? not bothered and I like spreadsheets.

Will this damned heat ever end?

Anyways, last Saturday I spent a day cleaning both the Barge and the Jag, snowfoam, jet wash and hose rinse with lambswool mitt, nothing too intense, just needed to get the dust off.

This left time to fit 3 mods to the Disco. First image is a gimme as to what, 2nd does show the big change, but the 3rd shows both it and the last mod done.

    Anyone like to guess?

Your eyes do not deceive as to where the 2nd and 3rd image was taken on Sunday, yes they were at my local Kwik Fit.

I have 3 issues the dealer I bought the car from needs to resolve, Inoperative Sat Nav, Drivers door lock (doesn't lock and is a known issue) and a distinct lack of cold air from the AC.

It was the latter I'd taken it to KF for, sure enough it wouldn't hold the charge, so that's a leak the dealer needs to find and cure.

Next week should see these either fixed or being fixed.

Other than that, after 6 weeks ownership I've got to say I'm pleased with the car, it delivers its brief with the added benefit of luxury and a slightly better fuel consumption than the D2 it replaced.

    Rich

    The images,
