I'd like an XJ or a newer XF. I have kids so I need four doors. I'll probably stick with the current old 'un for now though cos I'm dead tight and scrottagy.

It won't be long until the only choice is electric

I spent 2 months trying to get a suitable 3 litre diesel XF Sportbrake .... only ones i found were a bit old or high mileage
I had read all the opinions and experiences of the ZF gearbox alongside the different engines and decided big was better ...but just could not get one - they seem to sell very quick.

    So,
I spotted a visually nice 2.2 200ps Sportbrake 2014 ... test drove ..and...to be honest found it to be ideal
After a month, I still smile when I drive it, it has plenty enough poke for real world driving and returns 50mpg without real effort.

My BIL has the 200ps 2.2. Admittedly it’s not got the same effortless wall of torque my S has, but on the road if I put my foot down, I can’t pull away from him. Given it also returns 5-10 mpg better, makes a very strong case for itself.

Looking at something Euro6 compliant so definitely considering the new Ingenium engines on the XF/XE.

I'd take a small drop on my current 240 HP in light of the fuel economy

If you do low miles the petrol ingenium engine is great, 44mpg I’ve managed on a long journey and £140 vehicle tax but still has the performance of 60 in 6 flat and 250Ps to have fun with. 300Ps version is even quicker and still manages 40mpg even in an F-Type!

    XJ351 V8!

    Red of course.

This exact interior but i would rather have the centre console and dash trim in walnut.

However i do like piano black but i dislike the fact it's a scratch and fingerprint magnet
They said it couldn't be done, so i didn't do it

    I would live that car
When I die I want to go like my Granddad, peacefully in his sleep, not screaming like the people on the back seat.

I have to admit I'm having second thoughts about buying another Jaguar after having to fork out £1150 for a none pedestrian collision activation of the pedestrian collision system. After reading of spurious activations on other owners vehicles I'm scared stiff it's going to happen again.
I've borrowed my sons 65 reg 320d BMW and although I have never been a beemer fan I must say I am quite impressed with it.

OK Henry_B, you have now got me drooling all over the computer.

That is a gorgeous car and definitely on my wish list now.

I could live with the Piano Black interior, I just wouldn't let anyone else in the car
