    LR part no. LR 013487

If you check the compatibility it comes up with:-

    This item doesn't fit Jaguar S-Type 2006 CCX [1999-2008] Saloon Saloon 2.7 D 2720ccm 207HP 152KW (Diesel).

Sorry, the link isn't working, I'll try to sort it.

    Sorted.

I'm curious why so many part numbers are listed for the Land Rover pump chaps:

    "OIL PUMP 1001.E6 1001.G2 1348651 LR002465 LR 007131 LR007798 LR013487 LR041095"

It may well have been a weak part for the Disco, but we've not had failures on the S Type diesel, just that dubious one Neville experienced which I'm still convinced was due to diesel fuel in his engine oil like all the rest, not the oil pump.

That may also be because the Diesel S was only released in 2004, with a better pump?

When was the Landy with this engine released?

I think that it just what the seller has put in the listing. Doesn't mean anything really.

They are only ~£150 from a citroen dealer!

1001 part numbers is the citroen

But's it is interesting there are so many LR part numbers.

It was only around 2007 manufacture that are prone to failure.
    Were there a lot of 2007 2.7 S types?
    XJR 2001 Pacific Blue
Range Rover Sport 2005 Red 2.7 TD

The pump that was eventually fitted was actually listed for an XF (not the early ones as they aren’t the modified pump) simply because there isn’t a modified oil pump listed for the S type. The denial of failures did not come from my local dealer but my local Indy who actually had a vested interest in supplying and fitting a new oil pump as it helps his profit on the job. He showed me the difference in the pumps when side by side, I can appreciate the strength difference but hope to never need it.
