    Hi Billy I unplugged the MAF sensor as you suggested and took it for a drive and the car drove great so i thoroughly cleaned the MAF sensor with the spray cleaner as per instructions picked up from this forum ,plugged the sensor back in and the problem was back so I think we can say the MAF sensor is at fault thanks for your advice now all i have to do is find a replacement that wont cost a fortune Thanks

    Yes mate, sounds like it's gone faulty or your wiring is suspect but easiest to do first is just change the sensor.

    Thanks for your help i have just taken the car for a drive with it unplugged and the problem was gone . Cleaned the sensor with a MAF sensor spray plugged it back in and the problem is back so i guess all i have to do now is find a senor and swap it ? thanks again oh and the warning light has not come on yet thanks

    MAF Sensor

    I have changed the Maf sensor with a new one and the problem persists so i can only assume it is the wiring .Does anyone know a good auto electrician in the Wolverhampton area that can sort the problem please ?
