    Right, the switch mounts in a holder in front of the pedal, and that holder should be adjustable, isn't it?

    I don't have an S Type now to check for you, sorry.

    Isn't it shown in the Workshop Manual?

    No, it isn't, I can confirm there is no position adjustment anywhere . The mounting bracket is fixed & the switches just turn & lock into it. The tab that contacts the switches is welded to the pedal, so no adjustment there either. If anything is adjustable, it's going to be in the switch it's self. Perhaps the plunger length ?
    (Edit) Just popped one of mine out to have a look, no adjustment on switch either.

    So...

    New switch(es) then.

    Does the switch stem not extend/retract by twisting it? It doesn't look like it does.
