    I don't think so doodler.

Left hand side I might believe.

After all, "J" is a left-hooker, not a right hooker!

Anyway, if you see 2, 3, 4 and 5, it's a ZF 6HP26 automatic gearbox and your mechie has put in the wrong fluid.

He's also overfilled it unless he sucked out all the old fluid with a fluid exchanger machine.

Never tell us it's the "recommended" fluid, please. We're here to find, analyse, verify, and tell You the recommended fluids.

We have verified the ONLY correct fluids and they are listed in our threads in the Stickies and I've repeated them for you above with pictures.

No way is it "recommended", not for Land Rover ZF boxes, not for Jaguar, our part numbers are not listed on this fluid. It is Multi-Vehicle ATF.

Most "gearbox specialists" are clueless about this gearbox and get it wrong every time. Yours is one of them, sorry.

Read my previous posts again please, thoroughly, and if you want, follow what I've suggested.

If your mechie insists he's right, then it's up to you, I've explained several times that the Only correct Fluid for this box is Shell M1375.4, which is the original ZF LF6 supplied to ZF by Shell.

I've also explained above that Multi-spec fluids are Not suitable despite what they say, because they cover several specs, usually including DEXRON III which is 5-speed gearbox fluid, and our fluid has specific additives for this gearbox alone.

We can't help further if your mechie insists.

Here's the link to our S Type Stickies so you can find and read the ZF 6HP26 fluid threads: http://www.jaguarforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=104

The fluid spec is critical so if it's not the right stuff I'd say get it changed NOW. They'd need to flush out the wrong stuff and bearing in mind the fluid in the TC (torque converter) this is a major problem.

If put in by a supposedly-competent mechanic then it's up to them to re-do it with proper fluid at their cost.
