    Just sitting here thinking..

It would also be beneficial to have the 722.6 transmission serviced.

    Genuine mercedes kit Of course.

If the engine oil was old chances are the tranny fluid has never been touched.

Well done that man - excellent suggestion!

Will add that to the list, along with the supercharger oil. They never did the suspension bushes I told them about either so it needs to go back at some point.

Think I'll get the body sorted, then it's back to the garage to get the T's crossed and i's dotted!

Not recommending it to you but just interested in thoughts about this. Looks tempting.

    Thanks David,

Yes I've seen that one too - I am hoping mine will look as shiny as that soon! I think its the same colour.

There's a strange phone to the side of the front/rear armrests, a strange reading light, and a reflector missing from the rear. But other than that it looks a nice example. For the price it actually looks great value.

Well those of you who are called HenryB, Alec or Yoda/Rich will be relieved to hear I have officially decided not to LPG convert the Daimler.

After carefully considering the risk to the car (because of the soft valve seals) and the high miles I would be piling onto it for my commute, it just does not seem right; even though I would love to travel in Daimler style every day.

So I am now sifting through my options; I am thinking I will be buckling from my original stance and will probably end up with something German... they just make such solid, comfortable cars. Looks like my insurance will not be coming through for a couple of weeks due to the X350/358 saga, so I shall have the choice to either fund a new car myself or wait patiently while I burn petrol and add miles to the Daimler... Hmmm...

I have a couple of ideas, might be car shopping this weekend...

So in the mean time, the Daimler was at the bodyshop yesterday for an evaluation. They were trying to decide if they would beat out the rear quarter and repair, or if it needed to weld in a complete new panel. I am relieved to hear its quite solid behind so they have already beaten it out and the repairs start in January. I was dreading a complete new rear quarter as I just could not see how they could get everything to line up, I was imagining problems with the boot/door closure.

I'm looking forward to getting it back to investigate the suspension fault though...!

If changing the gearbox oil, I would recommend you change the connector sleeve too, while the oil is out. The are prone to leaking. on 722

The supercharger is mounted upside down IIRC. Therefore oil change slightly tricky.

I think the Daimlier is Saphire blue. Yours is different I think (same as mine maybe)

Thanks for the advice on the gearbox oil - also the supercharger. I'll have to ask the garage what they can do, hopefully they will know!

The colour of my car does look slightly lighter/brighter than that one on the EBay listing. I shall have to look up the colour code on the engine bay cover.
