"Searching is a 2018 American thriller film directed by Aneesh Chaganty and written by Chaganty and Sev Ohanian. Set entirely on smartphones and computer screens, the film follows a father trying to find his missing 16-year-old daughter with the help of a police detective. It has been described in the media as the first mainstream Hollywood thriller headlined by an Asian-American actor. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 21, 2018, and was theatrically released in the Unit"

This, for me, was never gripping in a thriller sense. It never reached the tense heights needed.

It was certainly an insight into the technological world inhabited by our youngsters!

The plot meandered along offering up likely suspects until the very end where the most least likely individual ending up being the culprit.

More of a thinking man's whodunit but still enjoyable for that.
