Polluting petrol vehicles are also included in these charges so seams fairer than in 2001 when petrol owners were over charged for VED wrongly as there cars were not the highest polluting on the road

Back then it was just Co2 emissions that were in question and petrol cars were much higher than Diesels. Now its the Hydrocarbons which have now been demonoised. Diesels produce more UHC's than Petrol but petrol still produce more CO2 so as motorists we cannot win. The Government encouraged us to change to diesel and now they want us to change to hybrid or electric. As a retired old git I cannot go to the expense of changing again in the near future.
    So sign anyway.

    Signed.

    Thanks Roger.

As I've said, and you know as well as I do, petrol engines will be targeted next too.

Right now it's a case of "Divide and Conquer", turn everyone against diesel owners to sort that out (as if!) then pick on the next bunch.

    No.

Diesel owners have been subsided by petrol owners for over 20 years.

I believe diesel owners should pay back the subsidy.

Yes bud, I'm referring to the current persecution of diesel owners, and the tide will eventually turn again on petrol owners who are crowing now.

And then when the loss of road tax revenues bites, they'll turn on hybrid and electric car owners too.

The GBP can't see it? They don't care, after all, they don't cause pollution or dust, do they!

    Ask Dr Kelly about dust!
