    Office chair project

Whilst I’ve done a few Recaro seats into office chairs before, I’d fancy having a go at something fun like an XK front seat, with the electrics.

Im thinking there’s way more to this than adding a 12v feed to the motors and powering them, as they’re likely run electronically not electrically, so simply buying the door mounted adjustment panel isn’t all there is. Has anyone powered a seat out of the car?

Failing that, can an XK seat be adjusted manually?

    Interesting project!

Perhaps getting hold of the wiring diagrams for an XK might help.

Looking at the chairs for an X308, there is a control module you need.

I have the electrical guide for the X308 here:

On a separate note, does anyone have the maximum dimensions of an XK seat, or care to grab me a measuring tape and check.

Crikey - this just got a little personal....

You might be better to post this in the XK section of the forum, there are probably not many checking this area of the forum.
