Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an
environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive
and gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced
within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your
choice or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the
religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others or their choice
not to practice religious or secular traditions at all; and a fiscally
successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of
the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2019 but not without due
respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to
society have helped make Canada great (but not to imply that Canada is
necessarily greater than any other country) and without regard to the race,
creed, color, age, physical ability, gender, religious faith, choice of
computer platform or sexual preference of the wisher.

[By accepting this greeting you are accepting the following terms: This
greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely
transferable, but without alteration to the original greeting. It implies
no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for
him-or-herself or other and is void where prohibited by law and is revocable
at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as
expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one
year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes
first and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a
new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.]

I enjoyed my trip round the local supermarket the other day.
It reminded me that some people remembered the "Christ" in Christmas in their pursuit of commericalisation.

Following many people with laden trolleys and vast amounts of food round the crowded shop, I was chuckling at how many times I heard "Oh Jesus Christ!"

    Restored my faith in humanity

    LOL.

My sincere best wishes to all here!
    Cheers *hic* Simon.

By the way, I'd be up for one of those signatures featuring words along the lines of grumpy and git and miserable sod, but many others have done it before, and much better than I could.

Education is a wonderful thing and anything that restores ones faith is a good thing but it’s a shame your teacher wasn’t better informed regarding the Holy Scriptures, as being a good catholic boy I was taught that X is the Greek letter Chi the first letter of the word Christ in Greek and that X is also used to represent the cross of Jesus; hence why Christians and scribes have been using the letter X to represent the word Christ for well over a thousand years.

Unfortunately due to commercialism the true Christian meaning of X and therefore Xmas is being slowly eroded away.

We've lost the purpose of Christmas.

Many people go berserk to compete with the most presents, the most expensive presents, the largest banquets.

And others struggle to just feed their families.

The Pope is right in his recent speech.

Don't remember Christ being called Chi ?...Or him being Greek...? Also the cross he died on was more "T" shaped not "X" ? Surely ?

Jesus wasn’t Greek or called Chi but common Greek was the second language of the known world back then much like English is today.

So in order to spread the word of Christianity the Apostol’s and disciples of Jesus wrote the New Testament in Greek so as more people would understand the teachings, hence the name Christ would have been written as Xplotoc, from which the sign of the cross was taken despite the fact it wasn’t T shaped.

This could go on for ever ?....The holy Bible is the most translated book in history ....But that does not give the right to rename someone ?....(incidentally what shape is a cross ?)
