    Newly purchased X150 with tracker

Hi, I've bought a Jaguar XK X150 4.2 of 2008 vintage and the folder of history implies it had a factory fitted tracker. The car has had three previous owners but I can't determine whether the tracker is still working or with which owner it is registered (if any). What can I do and what would the annual subscription be? Many thanks; I hate the thought that my car may have something that doesn't work and could potentially be useful (and might even reduce the insurance premium a little).

    Thanks in anticipation.

Unless you really want/need that tracker the best thing to do would be to remove it. It will drain your battery.

Keep the car locked and your keys in a Faraday pouch and you should be ok.

I do not offer advice, I only say what I would do with the set of circumstances presented. Your choice always.

There wasn't a factory fit tracker available for the XK ?

Jaguar did offer a dealer fit 'Jaguar Approved' system which was the RAC Trackstar ?

    That is very interesting !

Only one I have ever seen in 17 years selling Jaguar.

'Jaguarwatch' was offered as a dealer fit / manufacturer accredited system but I don't think I ever sold a car with it fitted.

Yours looks to have the Thatcham CAT 5 'driver recognition tags' so would be the 'advanced' version.

This link takes you to the company that provided the product to Jaguar, don't know if they are still in business or whether the system can be activated ?
