I've just looked up the cost of a pair of discs and pads for my XJ350. Over twice the price, the disc's were priced singly too. Almost twice the price of my local favourite motor factors in fact. Even using their so called 50% off code.

They aren't going to keep their sales numbers positive using those tactics.
2001 3.0 SE Auto, Satnav, winter pack. Dark Blue, all the toys.
2004 3.0 Sovereign Estate. Winter pack. Fixed. For Sale.
    2005 Estate X type 2.2 Sport.
2000 V8 3.2 XJ8 LWB. "Prom" car. Lovely. Should sell this one too really...
    2005 "AllyCat", 3.0 XJ6 SE.
    2000 S type 4.0 V8. Latest toy.
    VFR800A and a VFR 800F

Aye, I didn't buy spark plugs from them as their price was just horrendous - almost 3 times more than they can be bought for, quite widely, on ebay
    ex - 2002 X-Type 2.5 V6; 1995 XJ Sport 3.2; 1998 Mercedes C180 Elegance; VW Passat 2.0TDI (140); Audi A4 Avant 2.0TDI; Nissan Qashqai 1.5dCi; Current - 2007 XJ 4.2 V8 Sovereign, and occasionally an Electric Wheelchair!

It wasn't me! A big boy done it and ran away.

I'm sure I've told this tale before!

When I was still working,a regular Friday morning collection was from a car parts manufacturer on the Bedford road out of Cambridge. The made front track control arms for GM.I was collecting on behalf of Saab.
On day upon my arrival, the yard man greeted me by saying that I would have a bit of a wait as they were only chucking out Vauxhall TCA's at the moment.
I asked what the difference was.I was shown two crates of Saab TCA's,properly painted, greased balljoints with protectors on.
I was next shown Opal TCA's.A few paint runs,no ball joint protectors but most balljoints were greased.
Then the long row of Vauxhall TCA's.Patcy paint with rust already showing, rusty balljoints with little signs of grease....

Not all TCA's were born equal!

2000 S Type manual(now sold and replaced with a Transit Connect!) BMW E30 cabbie in the very rare neon green colour and a Nissan Micra for 'er indoors!

On the positive side I just bought air and oil filters along with 5 l of Shell Rimula fully synthetic 10-40 oil for just over £30 for my wife's Seat - admittedly with their 50% discount code

On the negative I have an X type brake pad of thier own brand with a separated friction material that was fitted by a local garage when I couldn't work on the car myself a few years ago. (never went back to that garage either....)
