Purchased an iCarsoft i930 diagnostic tool (from Ultimate Car Parts for £96.95) which is specific for Jaguar/Land Rovers. Will try it out and report on its suitability.

Now that we have two cats in the stable I’m looking at more high end shop scanners. Specifically the Autoenginuity.
Reads standard OBDII codes for all brands and has optional brand software packages that read all the custom codes too.

Not impressed with the i930. It worked on the main categories like Engine, Transmission and ABS on my XJ8, but there are other areas where it won't read the codes. Tried it on my XK8 and it has been a total failure. Looking to return it for a full refund! How can they sell it specific for the Jaguar & Land Rover range, have the options for model and year but not read the modules??? Will have to find something else.

I do not offer advice, I only say what I would do with the set of circumstances presented. Your choice always.
