    Ummmm... I got £158 9' and 8d.

So I redid it another 3 times and got the same.

    Adding the £2 2' gives £160 11' and 8d.

    Am I wrong?

Ah, yes, we used to get 1 sweet for a farthing, which had a wren on it, and 4 sweets for a penny, at the sweet shop on our street corner. Red and black liquorice too ("liquorish")

And those sherbet "fountains", wonderful zingy sherbet in a tapered blue paper bag with a straw stuck in it. And sherbet love hearts.

    Pez sweet dispensers.

    What else do you remember?

Yes, lots of snow on Troodos and in the high villages too.

It's very cold everywhere at night, down to 4°C here in Limassol and around the coastline because of winds from Troodos.

We've had almost 2 weeks of periodic heavy rain almost every day. It's eased up and we had several light showers today. We need it because all the water reservoirs are very low.

    It's cold but dry tonight.

But almost every day gave us a few hours of sunshine between the rainstorms.

Nutty people are going up into the snow and having fun with their kids. One we know loaded up his roofrack with lots of the stuff and brought it to his house not far from us and made a snowman. Of course it melted in last night's rain. Nuts I tell you. Brrrrr!

Keep the snow brrr its my birthday soon and the snow always seems to follow that. Once it was nice now its just a pain in the sledge.

Back on topic................. One spelling that has always let me down. Whether and weather, quite relevant to the above. E.g. I do not know whether its true but the weather always seemed warmer in Cyprus. Shame the place is still cut in two.

It's an oldie - but I like it too! May have come from 'The Two Ronnies' or something of similar vintage.

There has been a decline in predictive texting since the fella that invented it recently passed away.

Apparently, his funfair is to be hello two weeks next sundial......

    True story.............

A friend of mine is a funeral director, yes I know the usual jokes........ dead handy etc etc Anyway he was telling me that years ago he had to 'do' a guy who always wore a wig and even after his death, according to his mrs, he did not want to know that he was wearing one. So his wife picked out his best one for him to wear whilst he was on show so to speak. Just placing it on did not work. So they tried glueing it on, that did not work either. So the new boy, my mate, had an idea. He stapled it on.......... cringe worthy isn't it.
