    The OP has a petrol engine Jaguar, so his problem won't be because there is no anti-foaming agent present which is only used in diesel fuel and other oils

    Must be something else missing then, maybe lead to keep it at the bottom of the tank

    Funnily enough it’s how many long chain hydrocarbons are present that determines the density of petrol in kg/m3 not the lead

    All my old cars ran better on leaded fuel, you cannot beat a bit of lead in you pencil.

    Best way is siphon off a neighbour you never liked.

    I came back to my car in a car park one night many moons ago when petrol leaked through the 50p per gallon, and my fuel guage showed less than a quarter from 3 quarters that I'd left it.

    I got a locking fuel cap the next day, didn't happen to me again.
