XF Corrosion on Multi pin plug in the drivers footwell

Hi I'm new to this site but thought Id give a go for some advice.
5 months ago I purchased a XF Portfolio s 3.0D V6, drives fine until last Thursday. Parking brake, gearbox and engine warning light and the DSC all came on. Just the Parking Brakelight now though.
Taken it to Jag/Tech in Nottingham today and they said a multi pin plug in the Control unit fuse box has corroded and the housing. £1300 to repair.
Car drives fine but has these warning lights..

Any cheaper options to sort? Any advice would be appreciated.

    cheers Rob

I presume it is the late X250 model 2011/2015 and suffering from the water ingress to the CJB via the faulty washer pump and capillary action up the loom to the C5 connector, top left.
Unfortunately most facelift models are likely to be affected as the pump ages and gets more use, unless action's been taken by changing to the new updated pump before it rears it's ugly head. Some members have already done this and it's well documented on the X250 forum.

Jaguar have issued a TSB on it but they will only fix it for free if a warranty is in place, they have no interest in taking proactive action by changing the £70 washer pump before the problem arises to save the high cost repair.

Your fix will require a new CJB, Washer pump and the connecting wiring loom. It's a pretty straight forward job and any decent Jag Spec indy should be able to do it for a lot less than the dealers are quoting. You know what needs doing now so run it by a few and get a price, of course if you have only had the car 5 months, unless you bought it private the supplying dealer should have the onus thrown back on them to fix it, start getting a bit cranky with them sold a car with a known fault, not fit for service etc good luck.

    Hi Poundy
Thanks for your reply. That appears to be exactly the problem.
I've emailed the seller Maxmotors2 and quoted Consumer Act 2015 so awaiting the response.

    Cheers Rob

They seem to get some decent reviews as a seller, so if it was me I would give them a bell or call in and get them to commit to a fix or pay the dealer bill.

    Keep us informed
