After 5 months of advertising, the 2007 XK with only 25,600 miles on the clock, has finally gone to a new home. Ironically, I had 2 interested parties at once.Tony O'Keeffe came to see it on behalf of a client but before the client made a decision another guy enquired, immediately sent me a £500 deposit and came down from Warrington on Monday to pay the balance and drive the car home. He didn't even make a bid and happily paid the asking price of £16,950. That just goes to show that sometimes it pays to wait for the right buyer.

Nice one. Such a nice car I am surprised you had to wait so long to sell it. Is the chap from Warrington the one from the 'other' forum who I pointed in your direction? I told him that you looked after your cars and it would be 100% ok, with the proviso that no car is perfect but yours would be a better bet than most I have seen for sale. Does not matter though the important thing is its gone. He obviously knows a good car when he sees one.

    Missing it yet?

Morning Frank. No, I didn't hear from your chap, but thank you for mentioning my car to him.
The buyer rang me from my advert in Autotrader. He is a really nice guy who has never owned a Jag before. It was a retirement present to himself and he chose well, and no, I am not missing it. I only drove it for about 30 miles the whole time I owned it. My pal in Jersey who let me down, is off the hook now. Its nice to have my garage back again.

Tony O'Keef from JLR found out that the first owner was The Royal Household but he was not able to tell me which Royal drove it. Nothing on Google that I could find which is a shame. It would be nice to have had a photo of a Royal at the wheel.

    Relieved, Stagnite?

Well done, very pleased you got your asking price.

Sounds like Frank's trying for an earner on you!

    Got there finally.

Don't forget this is the time of year that people think for changing their cars, not in the rain and cold.

This one's going to be like last year so expect 34-35°C again.

New shock arrived and was duly fitted so I tentatively went out at 17.30 to attend a Supercar Soirée in Essendon which is only 5 miles from me.
The car did feel slightly different to drive in a good way and I am pleased to report that
    THE RATTLE HAS GONE.

It has been good week for me, despite the rain. On Monday I finally sold the XK and yesterday I stopped the irritating rattle. Hooray.

Jag seem solid now and is a joy to drive. It didn't even rattle over small speed bumps last night at the Soirée.

My favourite car at the Supercar Soirée last night. Stunning styling. I particularly like the old American style rear lights.
