    Stagnites very own thread!

I have been advised to start my own thread to prevent me hijacking Franks thread so here we are.

Update. Some other threads of mine:
My new acquisition: XKR Convertible.. https://www.jaguarforum.com/showthre...light=changing
    Changing the diff oil https://www.jaguarforum.com/showthread.php?t=99859

Changing Supercharger in my STR https://www.jaguarforum.com/showthread.php?t=99178

A Springlike photo opportunity yesterday whilst filling up.

Soon be time to get the STR and 1999 XKR back on the road.

I think I need to part with one of these this year but.................... which one. They are all fabulous cars.

I bought the STR in May 2015 and have made several improvements since then, and in July 2016 the Silver XKR came my way and I have made lots of improvements to her. The blue XKR came my way in October 2017 - I was supposed to buy a winter hack but couldn't resist. Of all the XKs and XKRs I have owned, I think I like this 4.2 the best and love driving her. So, which one should go?

    1999 XKR with 80,000 miles.
    2006 STR with 65,000 miles.
    2007 XKR with 35,000 miles.

All other things being equal, I would keep the fast saloon for the days when a coupe does not provide enough seats or is just too visible.

So, if you like driving the X150 more than the X100, it would be the X100 that would have to give way

But, its the one car with a very low mileage so I feel comfortable using it as my daily driver. Its so quiet too (apart from one very annoying rattle I am on a mission to locate).

Straight pipe it, then you wont hear the rattle.

Ha ha. One of the reasons I love this XKR is because it is very quiet, unlike the 5 litres I have owned. It also has a nice gear knob to rest my hand on whilst driving and nice softish suspension.
It doesn't make me want to race around so my licence is safer. The X100 has rear box delete which is irritating on a motorway but is good fun to blast around locally.

This is why I cannot decide

You don't want to rush this very important decision. Set a target date, say by the end of 2022. Then forget it for 3 years.
1998 XK8 coupe, Antigua blue, stainless sports exhaust system, tensioners replaced - low mileage, reverse sensors fitted.

Excuses, excuses. You need the S-Type for when you need a back seat, and the X100 is so much prettier..

... and the X100 works as a daily driver - I used mine for 6 years (until the X351 arrived, and now I use them alternate days - "today is Tuesday? Must be an XK day!")

Your situation makes it hard to navigate the fora, too - it must be tricky trying to decide whether to post in the S-Type, X150 or X100 forum!!
