1994 xj v12 STOCK IN PARK. CAN'T GET THE SHIFT TO MOVE OFF PARK.

DID HAPPEN AFTER LOST 6 CYLINDERS AND CK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON...Reset engine light, replacing distributor rotor for missing half engine. Any idea why can't shift from park.....
    Thank for any suggestion.

You should be able to release it from Park by removing the plastic plug top left of gear selector and pushing the plunger beneath it.
If it re-locks after this you may need to disconnect the battery for an hour or so to reset the modules.

    Billy ,
Thanks for the replay, but my problem is in the shift cable that melted when the catalytic converter was red hot !! Because lost one bank due to bad Distributor Rotor..
