Eddies X358 thread - Only two years late starting one !

For reasons unknown, I never actually started my own thread and just generally posted in the X350 / X358 section.

Maybe I'll have one running in a back-dated kind of way and add to it with bits and bobs done since early 2016

Today is a landmark day, she has actually been machine polished for the first time in my ownership, not by me though.

I did however carry out the waxing, and have to be honest that the shine is noticeable in this Lancastrian sunshine.

Going forward ( Rich ) the Fairy liquid may well be replaced with a whole host of Zymbol products instead ..........

Good man Eddie, you know it makes sense. Fairy liquid is purely for the Kraken in the kitchen and nowhere else.

I do not offer advice, I only say what I would do with the set of circumstances presented. Your choice always.

I've used Pledge for the interior and leather for well over 30 years now, not sure if Rich approved of this either

Just compare the difference from today, on the outside, to what you’ve done before.

Pledge on the interior.... oh no!

Your leather must have been all shiny!

Thank goodness you have seen the error of your ways. I can't claim to be a die hard detailer like some on here... my days of that are gone as I just don't get the time. But I have to say when you use the right products you get much better results. Zymol must be one of the best too.

I have to be honest and say the difference in feel ( gently running a finger nail over it ) before and after is quite astounding.

I'll not be out there clay barring it any time soon, but have to admit the difference is far greater than i would have ever expected.

The best things in life are worth waiting for, greatness takes a little longer, but here it is.

Now doesn't the Jag look fine and dandy, TLC works, put the effort in and you'll be rewarded.

If you're amazed at the difference now, you'd be astounded at what a clay bar gets off, just use one on a surface never done before and you'll feel the drag.

It also leaves the surface uber smooth making washing the car so much easier.

Pledge! Bugger all wrong with it on woodwork

All that remains to be said is,

Now you've started your showthread keep the updates and pics coming.

Its normally pretty good in there Ned, here is an old picture as I cannot access my server from Lancaster for some reason.

I'll just wait for Rich to spot a couple of fasteners that are not straight on the front cover, Karma for the radiator cap
