how do u get in an x type estate

how can u get inside an x type estate on a 06 plate. 2.0d . battery was live .. drivers door wouldn't open with key... seems the central locking not working via the fob . changed battery in fob. Anyway spent a few months in hospital since and when getting home, The battery is flat. Not able to drive yet because of leg op, but want to get it sorted for august.
cheers for any help. (put wd40 in lock today.. so maybe its seized..will see tommorow.)
    cheers
    Geoff.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Sounds like you have been through the wars in one way and another.
It is possible that the drivers door lock is stuck due to not being used. Applying WD40 and gently waggling the key usually does the job.

hi, thanks for your reply. turns both directions ok.. but doesn't seem to engage any of the locking mechs in the door lock. maybe just a worn lock or key?. any other means of gaining access?

As you have a estate, can you not gain access through the tail gate?

I do not suppose you have a tow bar fitted but if you do Pin 4 on the 12S (grey) socket should be permanently live. Connect a battery supply live to this pin and earth on the tow bar and you will get enough power to unlock.
If not then it means jacking the car up and connecting a battery live to a power cable such as starter or alternator.
You do not show where you are as there maybe someone near that could assist.

no key lock. As far as i'm aware.. there's no hidden key lock anywhere.... as in say a nissan micra where u can prise a cap off the passenger door and there's a hidden lock.

ps.. it does have a towbar socket.. ill give that a try charge wise. The car is actually identical in everyway to your pic rchiv.
