Not sure about that. Not found any evidence to suggest any X-Type had dual-zone climate control. References in the touch screen manual show dual-zone controls as only for S-type and XJ.

The electrical schematics show no reference to a different climate control setup in specific regions.

This is where Jaguar has confused me. I have an 09 facelift SE and I got the XType Owners Handbook part no JJM 10 02 20 901 provided with the car. Starting on page 156, the illustration shows a touch screen with Dual controls and goes into detail about the dual zone function.

Maybe they intended to add dual to the facelift and just forgot/didn't bother?

The 2008 JJM 10 02 21 801 manual also makes reference to it, but I'm inclined to think they just made a mistake using the XJ version of the touchscreen spec.

The manual also references touchscreen config of 'Vehicle Settings' to turn powerfold mirrors on or off, as well as two-stage-unlock and daytime running lamps on/off.

It is really annoying that they did the dual zone on the S type and XJ and didn't bother with the X-Type, you'd think that would go across all models.

I suspect it was a bean-counter's decision not to invest any more money into the X-type (which never sold enough units to meet Jag's sales expectations anymore). Adding niceties like dual-climate would have brought the X-type's equipment levels closer to the S-type, which might have encouraged some buyers not to fork out for the pricier model. It doesn't matter that it would have allowed the parts suppliers to make a standard nav-unit for all models, cutting costs...
