    Cracked rear light cluster cover

Unfortunately my shopping trolley rolled off the kerb and into the rear light cluster this morning, cracking the plastic cover in the process.

I have not got a price for a new one from Jaguar yet (presumably £££s) but does anyone know an online breakers yard or similar where I might get a replacement? I have found online breakers yards to be fairly useless in the past.

    Thanks

try ebay or there are some sites that will contact a number of breakers with your search and they will reply with a price .

Thanks. Eurojag have one at £138. As usual the whole unit needs to be purchased, ouch.

I will keep looking but may end up having to pay that.

    Also try Cotswold Auto Parts.

Was it the outer cluster, on the body or the inner one on the boot lid? Outer clusters are £447 each at a dealer and inner ones are £215. All are special order items so generally sourced on request.

Spoke to a great guy called Steve at Cotswold auto parts - massive knowledge of the XK - however I have got a better price elsewhere.

It was the outer cluster and yes the price is as you say i.e. astronomical. I have got second hand one for £138 from Eurojag - thanks 771PDH above. Apparently it is the (correct) LED type and comes with a guarantee.

Blimey, I might have made do with a bead of superglue!

My last TVR sustained a busted rear light cover when I pushed it out of the garage and it rolled backwards into my other car. DOH! Go to buy a Griffith part and they want £££ so you ask for a Cavalier one and turn it upside down No luck trying that with the XK I expect...

In future order your groceries on-line...sounds like it may work out cheaper for you in the long run!?

In fact I was manhandling a large bag of compost into the boot! As soon as I took the bag off the trolley, the trolley started to roll and fell off the kerb next to the light cluster...…

Anyway, for info I have had quotes ranging from £138, £169 , £289 and finally £320. The £138 from Eurojag is apparently tested and comes with a guarantee. All being well it will be a big thanks to this forum for saving me a few quid. (Trying to remain positive in the circumstances).
