    Pensions and Other Queries

Is anyone else retiring this or next year or recently retired?

What's needed to be done regarding government pension, and is pension amount the same for everyone in proportion to the number of years worked?

    Is the minimum 34 years?

What should have been this month?. Your pension starts from the date of your SPA given or take a week as it is dependent on the payment day.
My SPA was 24 March 2008 but I did not get it for a week as the next payday was 30th.

Your are paid from the date you ask to start from which can be spa or anything after. Once the commencement date is agreed then they will pay on a 4 week cycle . E.g. I asked to start 1st aug but my pay dates are a Tuesday so 1st pay date was 20th aug. So 20 days in 1 st payment then 28 subsequently.

Have you got a state pension forecast?

My 65th birthdate is this month. But the website tells me my pension start date is 6th March 2020.

I thought it would be June 2020, on my 66th birthday.

So I just asked if the 6th March 2020 is only for me, or if it's a group start date to bring lots of others into line too?

No I need to get a pension forecast too.

How much should I expect it to be if I'm fully paid in? My dependents are none since wifey isn't due to retire yet.

Or is it a different amount for each person?

Or would you have to bump me off if you told me?

    Jim,

Get yourself registered on this government gateway, you'll need NI no, etc to do so.

It holds all your tax and NI records, provides links to state pension forecasts, etc and will tell you when you are eligible.

I have mine and I've 6.5 years to go. Still I now know i'm fully paid up, even accounting for being contracted out in an earlier employment.

If your getting it a few months shy of your 66th then you are one of those in the transition period, can't remember what dates from to they used.
