Smile Jaguar XK8 Coupe wheel arch repair

    Hi
I am new to this forum, I have an XK8 Coupe 2003 in metallic black. it needs an offside wheel arch repair and a nearside sill patch.
I live in the Epsom Surrey area any one interested in doing the job or can recommend a repair body shop.

I paid £6,200 for the car about 3 years ago.

I have been quoted silly amounts the last being £13,000 + VAT. By a company called AV Classics.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Steve

I had both sills fully repaired and strengthened by a company up here on the Wirral for £400 incl Vat so you are getting a rediculous quote

Body work repairs on XK8 Coupe

Can any one advise a good and reasonably priced body work shop near Epsom surrey.
I need some rust repairs on my XK8 Coupe..
Having real problems trying to find someone to carry out the work at a price I can afford.

You would be much more likely to get replies is you posted this in the correct forum. Yours in an X100 and you've posted in the forum for the later Aluminium-bodied X150

You might get a better response if you were to post the question in the X100 forum which is for cars made between '96 & 2005.

Steven, there is this little known internet tool called google, if you use it there are quite a few options out there, so try:

    XK8 sill repair panel &
    XK8 wheel arch repair panel

When I looked the wheel arches were £100 each and the sills around the same, so £400 and you'd probably pay a decent bodyshop £600-£800 to cut out/weld in and repaint
2014 XK Dynamic R Coupe (no backbox, supercharger pulley upgrade and K&N's)
Audi A6/C6 quattro - going soon
    Toyota C-HR Hybrid, gone
Peugeot 2008 EAT6 with pan roof and heated seats - new addition

At least the X100 is steel, which gives you many more places to go than the aluminium X150, as I found out recently when I wanted a wheel arch repaired. 'Sorry guv can't do aluminium'.

The prices you got seem nuts to me. Try the appropriate regional forum on Pistonheads for recommendations.
