OH Yes Jaguar branded only. What a surprise. I would love to know who makes it for them. I wish it was the same company that makes the stuff I was using.

Nominally Unipart but it's almost certainly made for them and everyone else by one of three or four large industrial-chemical producers and re-branded. The MSDS for this sort of product is often very enlightening.

As an aside, the handbook for my 2011 XK does not stipulate the use of any particular brand of washer fluid. If that's also the case for your model year, I suspect Jaguar would find themselves on thin ice if challenged.

On a similar note, it might also be worth checking out the wording on the warranty policy document. If it's not mentioned specifically in there then surely their case evaporates immediately?

Dont know what the handbook says its in the car. The warranty as far as I am aware does not mention it. Its going on a bit as the guy in service has lost his voice so we are communicating by email. Perhaps he needs to change his fluid!

Personally I wouldn’t have thought the condition of the headlights would come under warranty as I would expect them to be covered for a certain amount of time under the sale of goods act / picked up on vehicle inspection prior to purchase.
i saw an f type a couple of months ago that had serious de laminations that the best will in the world couldn’t polish out

So I got the car back on Friday and only paid for the service. The Headlight washers are being looked into.

Woo5ie, Can you share the link to the 3M kit you used, please?

    its £25 now though.

if you look at the 3M website there is a good video which shows you how. It’s a bit scary at first at it looks a lot worse as you use the courser sand paper first but at the end it’s like magic as it all becomes very clear. Be careful not to keep the sander in the same place as it can burn the plastic. It does warn you of this.
