    Steve's XJ V8 Portfolio Thread.

As promised I am starting my ownership thread. It's Metallic Green LWB with a cream leather and oak interior. On the day of purchase it has covered 41476 miles and cost £14000.

The car drives very smoothly with that V8 purring away and the fit and finish is so much better than the XF.

Earlier today the engine management light came on so I phoned Evans Halshaw and they "don't do Jaguars" so it's booked in with Stratstone at Stockton for tomorrow morning. I will tell them to give it a good going over and fix everything they find wrong that can be charged to Evans Halshaw.

I have ordered the following to give the car a good service.
    8 litres of 5w20 Ford spec M2c925-a oil £52.93.
    Oil filter £23.86.
Air filter £14.49.i only ordered one as I have a spare left over from the XF.
    Cabin filter £18.99.
Diff oil 75w140 to Ford spec M2c192a. £10.75.
    Power steering fluid atf 320 dex111. £9.00.
    Brake fluid dot 4. £6.00.

Hopefully this will be done next week with photos. I think the car might have belonged to Jaguar when it was new as the first 2 services are stamped "jaguar /land rover cars, prototype workshop.

That's beautiful, Steve. Love that dark green - I saw one in that colour at the XJ 50th anniversary breakfast club last year.

    Don't ever sell it

Good luck with the EML by the way.

    All the best

Thanks Simon, l don't think there is much wrong as the car drives so smoothly.

I'm hoping to keep it until we are forced into electric cars.

Very good Steve, looks a very smart car, I'm sure you must be chuffed to bits.

Good call on having Jaguar do a thorough check over and hopefully Evans Halshaw pick up any tabs for anything needing done. Also ahead of the game with all the service stuff by the looks of it, are you using the suction methodology for the oil change?

What about the code reader, Icarsoft LRV2, have you considered that moving forward?

Still haven't used mine in anger yet.

As discussed the other day, sometime between now and 50k for the transmission fluid change as I need to do also.

Looking forward to some better interior shots as she sounds gorgeous, great colour scheme.

    Enjoy...

    Cheers Jim,
I think "chuffed to bits" is a understatement lol

Oil change will be by the suction method with photos that other people will find useful.

Icarsoft is on the list to buy when I get the main stuff sorted out. Thats more technology to learn!

The transmission oil will be changed next year at approx 50k miles, so that will be a nice waft down south to sunny Doncaster.

As for the interior, that will be cleaned and treated with Autoglym then photographed. I already have this in stock so that's only costing me time.
