We have decided to get another dog, possibly a rehome or a puppy,

To that end we are going to see a breeder tomorrow to 'inspect the goods'. The reviews seem to indicate they are OK.

We have decided to have another schnauzer as they are so special. But a different colour, Oscar can never be replaced nor do we want a substitute but we love the breed.

If tomorrow doesn't work out we are activley looking to a rehome.
Hi Oscarsmate, sorry to hear of your loss, i used to show a giant Schnauzer called Jazz about 25 years ago and he was part of our family and we were heart broken when he passes away with Cancer, but one thing boy he could run and was capable of out running a sheep dog, we then had a couple of bull mastiffs who again passed with cancer, we now have a Neapolitan Mastiff. Dogs have always been part of our family and it cripples me when their time is up but what i will say getting a new dog will ease the pain.. Gos

Sorry to hear about the demise of Oscar.
It is one hell of a decision to have to make to have a long term friend put down.
We had to do the same in February when our Cavalier Milly's kidneys started failing in a big way, That on top of a dicky heart didnt leave us with much choice. She had just passed her 12th birthday.
    Would we get another?
We still havent made up our mind, but we miss her badly.

No, I don’t do that, but we still talk about her daily six years later.
Fern was a 65lb stately Duchess: Calm and dignified. She simply blanked all trouble. However, we wanted to use her in Pets as Therapy, but she wasn’t sufficiently enthusiastic in saying hello to strangers.
When looking for our new puppy we told the breeder that we wanted a more enthusiastic outgoing pup. Elsa was selected for us for that reason. She is certainly both outgoing and enthusiastic, but using her in Pets as Therapy would be like releasing Tigger in a retirement home. She is coming up to 5 now, but shows little sign of slowing down.
Same breed, same upbringing, but they are all different!

Ok update, we picked up a black and silver mini schnauzer puppy yesterday. Stolen our hearts already. We called him Dylan as he is from a welsh breeder.

This may usually be a forum for our cats, but pictures please! We would love to see him!
